Sleigh bells ring, are you listening, In the lane, snow is glistening.
That most wonderful time of the year is just around the corner and men and women all over the world are out shopping, putting up decorations and preparing milk and cookies for the jolly old man. Don’t forget the reindeer!
Now if us adults love the Christmas season so much, what more the children?
Imagine what all those lights and colors do for them. The only problem is, for most parents, there’s no such thing as a silent night…
If you need proof, keep scrolling. These parents show us what it’s like having a baby around the house during preparations for that holly jolly day. Esther and Thad Anderson of Story of This Life shows us the nitty gritty of it all.
No scripts, no perfect social media images. In fact, Esther and Thad share that,
“We strive to encourage conversation about the realities of life and parenting to help shift the social pretense that we have to pretend to have it all figured out, keeping a relatable and transparent perspective shared through real-life moments.”
Well done, these two.
Christmas with a baby now has over 6 million views. Besides, what’s Christmas without family? Behind the smiles and laughs are two parents who strive to juggle the demands of daily life, preparation for the holidays, and just being mom and dad.
That’s a lovely tree! Lights, candy canes, and ornaments… Must have taken a lot of time to put up. So what does the baby do? Touch, of course! and since it’s a candy cane… good thing mom was there.
So the best thing to do was to move all the decor up the tree. Sorry, kiddo.
That’s one way of baby proofing a tree.
Do we even realize how much work it is wrapping presents? Fun to rip them open sure, but adults all over know the struggle. But that’s part of the festivities. So go get Santa!
If we could have a dollar for each baby that cries on Santa’s lap…
And if you’re wondering why those cookies taste different, it’s baby feet. They’re clean. So put those elf pajamas on and get lots of shut eye. This only happens once a year so it had better be worth it! As the famous poem goes,
“Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.”
Baby is stirring. Baby is crying!
So much for sleep. And guess who was up before the sun. The little one had her merry way with the presents. And those milk and cookies look delicious! If Santa doesn’t want them, baby does!
Merry Christmas, mom and dad!
All that work for nothing. But maybe it shouldn’t be about the perfect setup. Perhaps the whole point is to make the place as pretty as possible so children will have something to look forward to every year. It’s for them to have wonderful memories to look back on.
Sure, this baby loves all those presents but it’s the box that’s caught her eye. Guess what Esther and Thad? That little bundle of joy is the best present underneath that tree.
And that’s the jingle bell rock! Watch this adorably hilarious video below!
