Remember as a kid thinking that maybe, just maybe, when we talk to animals that they could understand us? Do you remember thinking, what if they could open up and just talk back? Well, it appears that this funny cat can do just that!
In a video quickly going viral, a cat speaks in a southern accent.
The cat’s name is Gambino Bambino and he is quickly stealing the hearts of millions. His calm and happy demeanor cannot help but make you smile when you watch the video.
His owner, Tawny, was filming him one day when she followed Gambino Bambino in the kitchen inside their home. As she rounded the corner, there stood Gambino Bambino posed and then did something amazing.
“Well, hi,” says Gamino Bambino says as Tawny walks around the corner.
And people are cracking up because he sounds like he is saying this with a southern accent! If you listen, you can hear him say this with the accuracy of a cat down in Texas even though Gambino Bambino and his family live in Southern California. We had to watch it a few times ourselves it was so funny!
The cat was rescued off the streets.
Gambino Bambino showed up on the back door of Tawny and her husband’s home one day in December. Tawny writes on their Instagram page that when Gambino showed up at their house, they tried to find his original owner. They looked for over a month posting pictures on Facebook and putting up posters. Eventually, it just worked out that Gambino Bambino was meant to be with Tawny and her husband.
“He just came to our house and decided we were gonna be his family,” Tawny said.
Tawny and her husband have another cat, Tom Petty, although Gambino Bambino does not talk to Tom Petty as much as he does to his mom.
Tawny explained, “He does a lot of chatting,” although not to Tom Petty. “They don’t talk to each other, just to me and my husband.”
Gambino Bambino is liking his new-found fame.
The responses that Tawny has received have been many people asking about Gambino Bambino’s story or what on earth is the collar around his neck. It is a GPS tracker for when Gambino Bambino has the urge to go outside and explore.
Tawny told Today, “My husband tried to take him off the counter and I said ‘He’s a celebrity now, he can do what he wants! It’s sad he’ll never know how popular he is but I guess he’s gonna be humble about it.”
But with his own Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook pages, Gambino Bambino is becoming somewhat of a celebrity. The video that Tawny posted on Tiktok quickly shot up to over one million likes. It is short and sweet and will make you laugh. And sometimes, you need something this simple to brighten up your day.
