One of the most important things in a relationship is having trust. Some people, unfortunately, are so insecure that they can’t let that happen and decide to stalk their significant other by secretly installing spyware on their cell phones to track their locations and all of their calls and messages.

Others are genuinely dating cheaters and instead of dumping them, they stalk them.

Sometimes this spyware is activated by a parent trying to track their child. We live in an age where it’s all to easy for anyone can break into your phone to track your every move.

But there are ways to protect yourself from being spied on.

Here’s how to find out if someone is tracking your phone:

If you dial *#21# and press the call button you can find out whether your information is being diverted. This means that your calls, texts, and others data are being sent elsewhere for someone else to observe.

If you use the code, a screen will show up telling you the different diversions that are set up and the phone numbers where the info is being transferred to.

This is usually set up by a jealous lover or parent who is trying to see who is reaching out to you.

This is another good reason to never let a stranger use your phone because you could be giving that stranger information on your exact whereabouts, your daily activity, and habits, as well as your financial information.

If you find that you’re not getting any calls, it may be because they are being redirected to someone who is spying on you.

Use the code *#62#to find out.

You can protect yourself and turn off all types of redirection by typing in ##002#.

This also is great to do when you’re roaming because it prevents you from being charged for calls that get redirected by default to your voicemail.

Another good code to know is *#06#.

This will show you your IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identifier). The code is used to identify your phone and prevent theft. If your IMEI code is blacklisted it can lock the phone out of the network and tell other cellular networks to do the same. It’s also used to jailbreak your phone. If someone stole your cell phone, your phone company can use the IMEI to track your cell phone.

This next code is referred to as the James Bond code which will tell you if someone is tracking your location on your phone.

The code is *3001#12345#* for an iPhone and *#*#4636#*#* or *#*#197328640#*#*for Android.

Check the section called UMTS Cell Environment, then click on UMTS RR info. Write down the number you see under CELL ID. It’s the basic station that your phone will automatically connect to with the best signal.

Next, return to the main menu and click where it says MM, then click on Serving PLMN and write the number down that says Local Area Code (LAC).

Punch those numbers into the website opencellid.org to find the basic station that your phone is connected to. The ones you have to look out for are the mobile basic stations. They are mostly used for events like festivals or other events where cell coverage is poor but if you see one around for no reason someone could be spying on you.
