If there’s one thing that Chase Goehring is, it’s an original. His signature style and his powerful messages grab our attention and speak to our very soul. With an interesting blend of singing, rapping, and ukulele, Chase first captured our hearts with his passionate performance on America’s Got Talent Season 12. In his opening audition, Chase chose to wow the judges with his powerful original song “Hurt”. It was through that song and in that moment that all of America saw who Chase Goehring really was and what he had to say. It was, after all, his very first message. The first of many.

Chase didn’t grow up knowing that he loved music and that he had a message to give to the world. He watched as his friends became interested in music but he actually didn’t really “get it”. It wasn’t until he heard the ukulele playing of Jake Shimabukuro that Chase connected with music and began his journey. He taught himself to play ukulele as a teen and decided to enter America’s Got Talent in 2017 at the age of 21.

Chase stood out to the judges right away when his melodic song suddenly transitioned to smooth and heartfelt rap, without missing a beat. This is where Chase truly shined. The judges were visibly moved by his performance as all four of them rose for a standing ovation at the end of the song. Simon Cowell summed it up with one simple, “Wow”. Chase went on to earn himself the coveted Golden Buzzer from DJ Khaled.

His purpose, Chase says, is in the message. He writes his songs to help people and to touch their lives.

“People have been coming to me with personal stories and how the song related to them…That’s like the life and the heartbeat of the song right there…I can write the song. But, if it doesn’t have any kind of impact or people don’t relate to it on a personal level, then it means nothing to me. So, that’s really humbling, and they’re the reason for that song.”
