When you visit the doctor, usually, it’s a bland waiting room with boring magazines, if you’re lucky, there’s a tiny tv propped up in the corner. Turns out, not all doctors’ offices are so plain. This doctor used his two favorite things as inspiration and opened his own clinic with therapy cats, and video games!

This doctor opened the clinic of his dreams with therapy cats and video games, the patients are loving it!

Dr. William Powers is a cat lover and video game enthusiast who was struck by tragedy back in 2017. He had 3 cats at the time, life was all-around great until a fire broke out in his house. He frantically searched for his cats, but the fire was spreading quickly, he opened windows hoping the cats would escape.

Dr. Powers opened as many escape routes for his cats as he could, he was so determined to save his cats that he ended up passing out from smoke inhalation. Eventually, he made it to the basement escaping with his life, but his beloved cats weren’t so lucky, they never made it out.

The tragedy inspired Dr. Powers to open his own family clinic. Only his clinic would have therapy cats and video games!

Dr. Powers was devastated by the fire, mostly about the loss of his cats, Arcturus, Sirius, and Cygnus. It took more than a year for him to mentally recover, when he did, he started his own practice, Powers Family Medicine. The practice would be the first to have therapy cats and video games.

People doubted Dr. Powers in the beginning, they thought people wouldn’t want cats in their doctors’ office, boy they are wrong!

“I told some colleagues that I planned to launch a family practice that would have therapy cats and video game decorations and they told me I was insane and that it would be a complete failure as people want to go to a sterile, simple, professional-looking place for medical care.”
