Being an older person makes you vulnerable to certain things.

Unfortunately, one of those things is crime. There are crimes committed against older people every day, and many of them are physical. One man thought he was going to steal the car of 56-year-old Lorie Crouch. He thought because she and her ailing mother were older that he could get away with it. But he was wrong.

Lorie, her grandson, and her mother had just pulled up outside the hospital in Beech Grove, Indiana, when a man came running out of the doors.

Lorie was trying to help her mother out of the car when the man jumped in the open door and said he was taking the car and everything inside. He told Lorie there wasn’t a thing she could do about it.

Lorie wasn’t about to let that happen. She wasn’t about to let this man hurt her mother or her grandson, who was also with them. She might be a small woman, but she has some fight inside her. The attacker put Lorie’s truck in reverse and start to back out. Lorie’s mother was in a wheelchair beside the truck, and she was hit as he tried to back out.

This enraged Lorie even more, and she lunged at the man.

She started punching the man, who was still trying to drive the vehicle away. He couldn’t steer because Lorie was attacking him with so much force. In between hits, she was trying to grab the wheel to fight the truck away from him.

The attacker wasn’t expecting Lorie to fight him at all, and he definitely didn’t expect the small woman to overpower him. He couldn’t control the truck and crashed it in just a few minutes.

Lorie wasn’t done with him. He had tried to steal her truck, attacked her mother, and put her grandson in danger. There was no way she was going to let him get away with it. She continued to fight him and tried to pull him out of the truck and onto the pavement.

Eventually, she blacked out, and when she came to, she was in the hospital recovering.

She had to be airlifted to another hospital due to a broken foot, broken wrist, and a big cut to her forehead. When she came to in the hospital, she wasn’t sure where she was, and she was worried about her family. She started calling for her mother. When she learned her mother was OK, she calmed down.

She also learned that the man didn’t get away with her truck. After she blacked out, her teenage grandson, who is a wrestler and a football player, tackled the man and held him down until the police and other help could arrive. Lorie considers him her hero.

It’s pretty clear he gets his strength and bravery from his grandmother.

Lorie wasn’t about to be a victim or let anyone hurt her family. She is proof that it doesn’t matter how big you are, you can stand up to people and win.

Of course, it will take a while for her to recover from her injuries. In the meantime, the man who attacked her and tried to steal her car is facing a lot of charges, including auto theft and battery.

He will likely spend a few months in jail, if not longer.

He will probably think twice before he tries to steal a vehicle again. He thought Lorie and her family were easy targets, but it turns out he bit off more than he could chew when he tried to carjack this family.
