It isn’t easy being a dog, especially when you have other canine roommates to deal with. Just because two dogs are living in the same household doesn’t mean they’ll always get along, which is exactly how Diesel the Great Dane feels about a tiny chihuahua he is forced to live with.
They might both be from the same species, but their breeds couldn’t be more different.
Because Diesel is bigger than the other pup, he pretty much always feels that the focus should be 100% on him. He can’t stand the fact that sometimes the chihuahua gets more attention than him. It drives him crazy!
In addition, he always thinks he is entitled to more food than everyone else, even if that means trying to steal it from the chihuahua.
While he does have the self-restraint to not flat out bully the little chihuahua into giving up its snacks, he will throw an adorable tantrum every time he feels like he’s not getting his fair share.
One day the two dogs’ owners decided to record one of Diesels little fits he throws occasionally and the result is a video that all pet owners can appreciate.
It’s titled “Tiny Chihuahua refuses to share treat with Great Dane”, and if you are a dog lover like us, then it’s definitely going to crack you up. Diesel is such a big baby!
“Diesel the Great Dane just wants to get his paws on that treat!” the video description reads.
The clip begins with the tiny chihuahua smugly sitting on the couch enjoying its treat as Diesel stands there and gives him the stare down.
The giant Great Dane is at least 20 times the size of the little pup.
“What’s the matter. Does he have a treat?” Diesel’s owner can be heard asking the dog.
Diesel’s response is simply to let out a short grumble.
You can tell it really bothers him that the chihuahua is getting to eat and he is not. Although, we soon learn an interesting fact.
“You ate yours already,” the owner says to Diesel.
It turns out, the Great Dane already got his treat, yet one is never enough! He is still hungry and seeing the chihuahua still working on its treat makes him so jealous. He continues to grumble and throw his fit, yet the owner doesn’t give in. The whole time too, the chihuahua is totally unfazed by the situation.
The chihuahua is stone cold to the bigger dog’s begging, and calmly sits there completely ignoring him.
A few minutes into the video, the chihuahua gives Diesel about a 2-second glance, but then after that, it’s back to chillin’.
The whole scene is pretty funny, and as pet owners, we can definitely relate.
Anyone who has two or more dogs in the home has absolutely witnessed something similar before. While technically, we can’t understand dog barks, it’s pretty easy to tell what the big guy is thinking. Diesel’s body language says everything — he wants another treat!
Finally, after a couple of minutes of teasing him, Diesel’s owner gives in and admits defeat. They offer him a snack and Diesel couldn’t be happier. Once again, the unfazed chihuahua doesn’t even blink an eye.
