You get to travel the world, make something that millions will enjoy and probably work great hours.

But then you realize that it’s actually a pretty terrifying job.

You’ll be literally feet away from some of the scariest and most dangerous animals in the world.

Still, the risk is worth it for those who love taking pictures of animals.

Some people even spend stupid sums of money just to experience what it’s like to be near dangerous animals.

But the majority of us are happy with just looking at dangerous animals from the safety of a zoo.

And anyone that is thinking of looking for dangerous animals in the wild should see these following pictures.

Luke Thom is a commercial diver by trade. He’s seen many incredible things over the years. But this event stands as the most shocking.

He was out in the ocean off of South Australia recently. Like normal, he was about to hop into a shark cage to view sharks in their native habitat, when something terrifying happened.

A great white shark more than twice the size of a human burst out of the water, mouth open.

It was clearly looking to attack Thom and his colleagues.

The shark then ended up biting the edge of the shark cage and swimming away.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Thom then proceeded to get into the cage and photograph the shark that had almost eaten him for several hours.

Clearly, nothing can phase him!

If the photos above haven’t terrified you, you may want to try a shark cage yourself. How easy is it to do this?

It turns out that even non-divers can look at sharks underwater with a shark cage.

Cage Diver explains that people who are unused to diving can get given an air supply system that allows them to float in a shark cage without being an experienced diver. Or you can hold you breath or use a snorkel.

The source also insists that shark cages are completely safe. Even if a cage were to break away from a boat, it would float with the entrance staying above water, preventing a shark from entering.

Even with these reassurances, many people are terrified at the thought of getting into one.

There is no shortage of footage that shows just how scary being in a shark cage can be.

Sometimes sharks viciously attack the people inside the cage, as this video shows:

In 2018, there were 130 reported cases of shark attacks in the world.

Only five of them were fatal.

And the country that experienced the largest number of shark attacks that year was America. It had 32 shark attacks, compared to just 20 in Australia.

Most of these American shark attacks took place in waters just off of Florida.

In fact, Florida has had the most shark attacks in the world for a number of years now.

If you know anyone who likes to vacation regularly in Florida, then now you can give them a new fun fact about their favorite relaxation spot!

And one final dangerous animal fact:

The most deadly animal in the world isn’t a shark, a lion, a tiger or anything that most people would think of as scary. It’s the mosquito. They kill 725,000 people a year.
