Planning a wedding is hard work. Most engaged couples spend months organizing their special day, making sure every single detail is exact. When it comes to a celebration of this magnitude, there is no room for mess-ups. You need to figure out the location, the menu, the decorations, the rings— Oh my God, don’t tell me you forgot the rings.

Vicky Kettle found herself in this situation when, moments before getting married, her boyfriend Stuart revealed he had left their wedding rings at home.

The couple was standing before vicar Mark Bratton at St John the Baptist Church in Berkswell, UK, when Stuart made the alarming announcement. “Do you have the rings?” he asked his best man Robert, suddenly in a panic.

After tapping his pockets and checking every inch of his suit, Stuart realizes he left the rings at home. At first, it seems like a minor inconvenience, but the vicar soon informs them:

“Unless we get to the end of this [marriage ceremony] in five minutes, it’s legally invalid.”

When Stuart says he left the rings at home, the officiant tells him he better get going then! With that, the groom dashes out the door, leaving his wife, best man, and guests completely bewildered.

As Stuart dashes out of the church, a projector at the front of the room starts playing a video of his antics— showing his entire journey as he retrieves the rings.

Sporting his wedding suit, the video shows Stuart embarking on a James Bond-style dash as he runs through an alley, hitches a ride on a lawn-mower and drives an oversized bicycle.

His journey is what action movies are made of— running past a herd of sheep and pushing an unsuspecting man in the water to steal his boat.

For the next few minutes, Stuart pogo-sticks, tricycles, and scooters towards his home.

Finally, Stuart manages to retrieve the matching bands and hail a taxi back to the church. His wedding has officially been saved.

It turns out Stuart is a well-known jokester who often plays pranks on his family and friends. “People would have been expecting me to do something on my wedding day, so I knew I had to think of something,” he told The Mirror UK.

“I filmed it all a week before the wedding, it was really fun, and the guests loved it; it was a real talking point of the day.”

Since being uploaded to YouTube, Stuart’s hilarious prank has been viewed over 2 million times.

Comments on the video read:

“It made me cry of laughter xD I wanted to clap my hands when he came back to the church. He really should become a comedian actor.”

“What a perfect husband with such a sense of humor!! You’re a genius and quite the catch!!”

“This is great! It’s the best wedding prank I’ve seen in a long time (sic).”
