Cats are quite quirky and are notorious for wedging themselves in every strange place you can imagine. They’re able to stretch and contort and apparently, they can also shape-shift, proving that cats are liquid.
If you’re one of those people who won’t believe it until you see it, here are 35 pictures that will prove cats really can shape-shift and fit themselves into any place imaginable, no matter how fat or furry they may be.
#1 When Your Bowl is Overflowing
May your bowl always be full, or overflowing. It doesn’t matter what it is that is filling the bowl, either, even if it’s a cat. You just want that bowl to be full and in purr-fect condition.
#2 If the Box Fits…
The saying usually talks about the shoe fitting, but this cat has definitely changed things up a bit. He has taken this box and definitely fit his furry body in it somehow. It looks a little bit uncomfortable from the expression on his face.
#3 Jarred Kitty
Curling up and crawling into a jar may not seem like everyone’s idea of a good time, but this cat looks to be quite content. Of course, it makes you wonder how he will get back out when the time comes, but for now, life is good. He’s safe in his bubble.
#4 Kettle of Kitty
Everyone knows that kettles are small spaces. After all, they are designed to make tea, but when you are a kitten, and you’re trying to find a good hiding spot, the tea kettle works just fine. The dog won’t ever find you in there, but hopefully someone notices before they add the water for tea.
#5 Mind in the Gutter
People always say to keep your mind out of the gutter, but this cat apparently never got the memo. He crawled right in to take a nap. At least he won’t have to worry about falling out anytime soon.
#6 A Dozen of Cat
Sitting in an egg carton doesn’t seem like it would be too comfortable, but this cat is having a sit in one anyhow. He doesn’t seem to mind and looks like he might stay there for the day. It’s nice and cozy, after all. It’s just us cat-chickens.
#7 Mermaid Kitty
All this kitty ever wanted was to be a mermaid. By crawling into this wicker mermaid tail, he was just making his dreams come true, and there is nothing wrong with that. The other cat in the back appears to be silently judging his friend’s decision, however. That or he’s jealous.
#8 Puss in Heels
The story is usually about Puss in Boots, but this cat wanted to be classy and decided to crawl into some high heels. She apparently thought the idea wasn’t so bright after the fact. It looks like the kitty is questioning how her owner wears these all day, every day.
#9 Bowl of Milk
Cats usually drink bowls of milk, but this one decided to be the bowl of milk. His mom must have told him that he could be anything he wanted to be. He’s just following his dreams.
#10 Need Some Flour?
Can you imagine reaching for some flour and finding your cat occupying the container instead? It’s hard to even imagine what possessed this cat to crawl in a flour container in the first place. It seems like there is going to be some pulling and tugging involved to get him back out.
#11 Glass of Cat-Bernet
Cats can certainly behave like a liquid when they want to, and this one is definitely proving that. He has managed to squeeze his body into a small wine glass. It looks like today is a day for Cat-Bernet instead of champagne.
#12 Bread Dough Kitty
Liquid doesn’t assume any fixed shape, and neither does this cat. He has squeezed his body into a bread pan and is occupying its full capacity. This can’t be comfortable, but he probably can’t get back out, either.
#13 Pretzel Kitty
Snacking is a serious hobby, and this cat wanted to make sure that no one was going to take his food. That being said, he decided to crawl in the barrel with the pretzels. It is certain that no one is going to steal any now.
#14 Liquid Blob
Since liquids have no defined shape, they can take on any form they want. This cat is definitely doing the same thing. All stretched out, it is uncertain whether he has any defined shape or form. At the moment, he is truly liquid.
#15 Bouquet of Kitties
One cat trying to squeeze into a small space is enough on its own, but when two try to fit into the same small space, it looks a little bit ridiculous. These two cats decided to make a bouquet out of themselves. Wedged into a little vase like they are water, it’s uncertain just how they are going to get back out.
#16 Puddle of Kitty
Liquid forms pools on the ground. This cat decided to lay on the ground and do the same thing. You can’t see any legs, so a pool of kitty it is!
#17 Melted Kitty
When it gets hot outside, solids can melt into liquids. Evidently it was too hot for this cat, and he melted into a big puddle of kitty. Pretty soon, he may just drip onto the floor.
#18 Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls
Liquids have the tendency to run, like a waterfall. This cat is literally doing the same thing. It must be hot outside, and he melted because he’s cascading down onto the next level.
#19 We Need Some Drain-O
If the water isn’t going down in your porcelain sink, there may just be an issue. It could be that your plush cat is clogging the drain. We’d probably sip the Drain-O though. Opening up a can of food nearby will probably magically clear the drain.
#20 Just Keep Swimming
Usually, cats want to eat fish. This one just decided that he wanted to swim in the bowl instead. We have no idea where the fish went, but we’re hoping he’s safely swimming around in an aquarium somewhere – preferably one with a cat-proof lid.
#21 Water is Good for You
Hydration is necessary for every life form. This cat took things to the next level and wanted to make sure no one stole his water. Try taking a bottle now, and you may lose a hand.
#22 Help Me, I’m Stuck
This cat definitely thought that, even in liquid form, this Mason jar could contain him. Sure, it did, but now, he has to worry about how he is going to get out. It looks like he may need some help because he appears to be pretty stuck.
#23 Baby Bottle Kitty
Typically, baby bottles get filled with milk or formula. This bottle, however, got filled with one fluffy kitty. The baby might be more entertained by this bottle rather than the one full of milk.
#24 This Kitty is a Liquid Blob
Here is a picture of a cat from under a glass coffee table. He definitely looks like one big blob of liquid that formed into a pool. Who knew a cat could look so fluid?
#25 Wax Melt Kitty
Have you ever seen a wax melt before? This cat looks like a wax cube that just started to melt. He is pretty proud of his positioning from the looks of it.
#26 Liquid Kitty in a Bag
This kitty looks like a huge bag of melted ice cream. We’d say this is definitely a gallon of rocky road. You probably don’t want to put this furry liquid in the freezer, though.
#27 Trash Can Kitty
They always say to keep hazardous liquids separate from other trash. This cat may not be trash or hazardous, but he looks like a smi-liquid stuffing himself into the trash can. His face definitely tells us he is pretty stuck.
#28 Turn the Water Off
You’re supposed to turn the water off after you’re done and before you leave the bathroom. Someone apparently left the tap running, and now there is a sink full of kitty. We think this may clog the drain.
#29 Aquarium for What?
This cat clearly doesn’t know what an aquarium is for. Apparently it’s a resting place for him during nap time. It can be easily assumed that his fur soaked up all the water.
#30 I’m Melting!
When things get hot, they tend to melt, and that is apparently what happened with this kitty. He spent way too much time under the blanket on the couch. Now he’s a hot mess, literally.
#31 Once You Pop…
Pringles are highly addictive once you pop the can open. This cat may be just as addictive. However, we don’t think the lid will fit back on. Maybe he can wear it as a hat.
#32 Liquid Tends to Run
When liquid dumps onto the floor, it has a tendency to pool and run all over the place. This cat looks like he was dumped out of a cup and his puddle started to run. We think someone may need to get a mop.
#33 Pot Full of Kitty Soup
Did someone say soup? This cat seems to think that he is one of the main ingredients as he sits in the pot. What we really want to know is how he got the lid on the pot himself.
#34 Boxes Can’t Contain Liquids
A cardboard box is never a good place to try to store a liquid. It’s going to leak. This cat is so big; he looks like he could leak right out of this box.
#35 Tall Drink of Kitty
This cat has somehow managed to squeeze himself into a cup. He looks quite miserable being squeezed into such a small place and yet he stayed there long enough for the photo to be taken. Most people ask for a tall drink of water, but this works, too!
