When an NHS nurse helped a man with a cane sit down at a piano in a shopping mall last year, no one knew what to expect. Many shoppers paid no attention to the duo and simply continued on their way.

Soon though, the man started playing an epic boogie-woogie jam and that’s when the real fun began.

After taking a few seconds to find his place on the keys, he launched into a performance that had shoppers everywhere stopping and staring. The entire surprising jam was shared in a popular video on Dr. Brendan Kavanagh’s boogie-woogie YouTube channel, and if you’re a music lover, it’s something that you just have to check out.

Instantly, everyone in the immediate area took notice of the performance, and not long after, a sizable crowd gathered.

They couldn’t help but stop to check out the spectacle. It’s not often a free impromptu performance of this caliber takes place in the middle of a shopping mall.

Helping the performance along was the talented nurse.

“It’s amazing what the NHS trains nurses to do these days….” the video description reads.

The reason being? Once the man got going on the piano, the nurse began busting out an amazing tap dance.

Her level of talent is pretty extraordinary.

Being a full-time nurse is a demanding job, and we have no idea where she finds the time to practice, but if one thing is clear, it’s that she is definitely incredibly skilled.

For the next several minutes, the man jammed away on the keys and the nurse tapped along to the beat providing background percussion.

Together, they made for quite the lively duo, and by the end, there were a few dozen people standing around watching them. Ultimately, they finished the performance to roaring applause from everyone there.

It’s no surprise that the video has since gone on to rack up over 100,000 views.

People on the Internet just can’t get enough of Kavanagh’s short clips showcasing public boogie-woogie performances on the piano. They are just as mesmerized as those individuals who happen to randomly encounter the performances in person.

“I’m a nurse and they never taught me to tap dance. Darn, I got cheated,” one YouTube commenter wrote.

Although, the truth is that it’s not what one does for work that defines a person.

It’s the hobbies and life they have outside of the office, or in this case, the hospital. Sometimes, you have to take your own initiative if you want to learn something new.

The nurse finds meaning by helping people in her career and enjoying the art of dance in her free time. In this case, it was a little of both. The title of the video states that the nurse was on her lunch break when the performance took place. As for the man, playing the piano is something he simply enjoys doing and judging by his talent, it’s likely that he has been playing for most of his life.

All in all, it was one of the best surprise boogie-woogie jams that we’ve seen. We can’t wait to see what other videos Kavanagh and the people he works with have in store for us in the future.
