If there’s ever a story that proves miracles do happen – this would be the one.

Whether you’re a religious person or not – there are some stories that are so incredible and so unbelievable, they make you question whether or not there is something ‘bigger’ to this thing we call life. This is by far one of the most amazing stories we’ve come across.

A puppy at an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma was sadly chosen to be euthanized – there were simply too many dogs at this shelter for them to handle. Sadly, this particular shelter didn’t have the resources to try and re-home this ill-fated pup.

The dog was given euthanasia drugs – but for some miraculous reason – they didn’t take.

The 8-month-old puppy, now named Rudolph, was injected with euthanasia drugs by the veterinarian. The vet left the room for a few moments so that the puppy could peacefully pass – however, when the vet walked back in the room, the dog was still very much awake.

“He’s a miracle dog, absolutely,” Kylie Jo Mitchell, a staff member at Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter, told WQAD-TV, “I’ve never heard of anything like this ever, this is a first.”

After hearing of the dog’s miraculous survival – the Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter took Rudolph into their care.

The Lab-American Pitbull mix wasn’t meant to leave the earth that day. It’s clear that this little guy was kept here for a purpose and a reason – something that all dog and animal lovers everywhere are rejoicing over. Mitchell, herself, finds the entire ordeal unbelievable.

“He was euthanized and when they returned to that room they came back and Rudolph was alive,” Mitchell says.

Once taken into their care, Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter posted Rudolph’s photo on Facebook.

“He was at a shelter that was full so the vet euthanized him. But God had a different plan because he woke up. And thank goodness the vet said he wouldn’t do it again. So we brought him to our shelter in hopes somebody would come adopt him and give him a second chance at life. If you’re interested in this adorable young man stop by and meet him…” the shelter posted.

It wasn’t long before the Facebook post gained traction – within a few days, the post had been shared over 2,000 times. People from all around the country were determined to help find this special pup find a special forever home.

A man named Jacob Hommer saw Rudolph’s photo online and his heart was immediately drawn to him.

Hommer believes that he knew someone, a veteran in Colorado, who could really use a dog like Rupolph. He thinks that with the right training, Rudolph could be the perfect service dog or emotional support dog.

“My family and I we have bred Siberian Huskies for combat veterans, Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded veterans,” Hommer says. “I sent him the story on this dog. I said, “check this dog out and the incredible story,” and he was so moved by it and emotional that he was like ‘I have to have this dog’.”

“Having a dog, it’s something to wake up and fight for and especially a lot of these vets they are struggling to find a reason to get up in the day,” says Hommer.

Hommer and his military friend weren’t the only ones interested in taking in this death-defying dog. Rudolph stirred up a lot of interest and the Kings Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter wanted to make sure that they placed him in a home they feel 100% certain about.

“Everybody has been really interested in this boy,” Mitchell said.

Just a few days later – the shelter finally picked the perfect home for Rudolph.

Rudolph is heading to his forever home. It was a tough decision with so many wonderful applications but Rudolph fell in love with this young man and the feeling was mutual 🥰 Thank you for adopting a rescue dog.
