Starving Dog Is Rescued From Park After Being Dumped
How could anyone ever do this to an innocent dog?

Every year, over 3 million dogs are abandoned in shelters, according to the ASPCA.

As if that isn’t sad enough, there are quite a few shelters that just do not have the space for these animals, and over 1.5 million cats and dogs are euthanized yearly.

In some situations, animals aren’t even given the chance to become adopted. People will dump their pets in alleys, outside police stations, or in public places, like the park.

One poor dog was left alone in the park to starve.

But Esme, thankfully, did not starve. All thanks to Hope for Paws!

The non-profit Los Angeles 501-c3 ALL Animal Rescue Organization was founded by Eldad and Audrey Hagar. On their Facebook page, they said:

“Hope for Paws rescues animals who are suffering, facing death or extreme danger that nobody else are able to save. We then pay for all medical costs.

We are made aware of these animals in dire need by concerned citizens or by other rescues who ask us to save the animal and in return, they foster and find the permanent loving home for the pet once it is healed.”

On their YouTube account, they shared the story of Esme.

Hope For Paws got a scary call about a dog who’d been dumped in a park and left to starve. They quickly hopped in the car and rushed to help.

The dog, named Esme, was very scared of the rescuers. But she was so hungry, she accepted food from them after a few moments of the rescuers working to earn her trust.

It was quickly realized that Esme was lactating, meaning she’d just recently given birth to a litter of puppies.

After they were able to get Esme to calm down and trust them, they set off to search for her puppies. They played a YouTube video of puppies yelping to try and prod Esme into leading them to her puppies.

But sadly, even with Esme guiding them, they couldn’t find her puppies. They realized this meant one of three things: someone stole Esme’s puppies, a predator got them, or Esme’s old owners bred her, then dumped her at the park after she gave birth.
