Women who are going out with men that are shorter than them share their pictures in a Twitter thread
Some women actually prefer shorter men. These couples found love!

Like a lot of controversial things nowadays, it all started with a tweet.

Since the beginning of time, people have equated height to physical strength and even good looks. But that isn’t always the case. Believe it or not, shorter individuals can be remarkably strong and be wildly attractive.

While the latter might be subjective, what it all comes down to is the heart within the person. Their generosity, kindness, and overall, what type of person they are. Although it sounds cliché, it’s true.

Unfortunately, society has a certain mindset that is difficult to change. But one comedian was up for the challenge.

Liz Adams took to Twitter to post a photo of her and her husband, who just so happens to be significantly shorter than she. To be fair, she is 6’2″. She captioned the photo:

“Happily married to my 5’5” king for 8 years while y’all are getting ghosted by 6’2” alcoholics with 7th grade reading levels but go off about how you only date tall men I guess”

Of course, that stirred up some controversy. Many users were upset that Adams used alcoholism and overall generalization to form an opinion about tall people.

In an interview with Bored Panda, she stated, “I’m a comedian, so I speak in hyperbole a lot, but a lot of people thought I was being dead serious or trying to speak badly about tall people which was not my intention.”

She continued, “…(I) was just pointing out how arbitrary height requirements are, and that discounting a potential partner based on their height could prevent you from meeting someone really special.”

While the tweet ruffled some feathers, it inspired many more. After all, there’s a lot of pressure for men to be taller than the woman they are dating. Women too feel as if they should be with a man who is taller than themselves.

But that isn’t how love works.

“…there’s this perception that women should be with men that are larger than them and that sort of toxic masculinity makes men feel like they have to be huge and strong to be manly, but being a good man has nothing to do with how you look.”

Many users decided to post photos of themselves with their partners. Women shared photos of their male partners who happen to be shorter than them. In turn, men shared photos of their taller female partners.

Some even shared photos of their parents who have been together for decades. It was a beautiful sight to see! Take a look!

Finally, it never hurts bringing these topics to the big screen, especially when it’s on the cover! Stunning poster!

Height isn’t anything but a few numbers. Don’t let it stop you from approaching that cutie at the bar or your crush in class. Just go for it! There’s much much more to a person than their physical appearance.
