Imagine how much of a better place this world would be if animals were in charge.

The people of Rabbit Hash, Kentucky understand how animals make the perfect politicians and elected a pit bull as their newest mayor.

Brynneth Pawltro, a 3-year-old female rescue dog, who goes by the name “Brynn” for short had a landslide victory beating out Stella the cat and a donkey named Higgins with more than 3,300 votes.

According to Huffington Post, Brynn’s owner, Jordie Bamforth, says that Brynn ran on a platform of “peace, love, and understanding.”

“Brynn has declared to be peaceful with any human or animal that comes through Rabbit Hash, especially the cats,” she said.

She has also promised not to pee on cars.

“She is going to be the most understanding and accepting of everyone who passes through Rabbit Hash,” Bamforth told People. “She doesn’t want to judge anybody for how they look, or their political stances, she will love them no matter [what].”

This is the fourth dog that Rabbit Hash has elected as mayor. Their first dog mayor was elected in the late 90s as a fundraiser.

“We charge you a dollar for your vote, you vote as often as you want,” Bobbi Kayser, who works with the local Historical Society’s told WDRB.

This year the funds raised went toward improving the town’s General Store that was destroyed in an electrical fire.

“It was so heartbreaking, but it’s been really awesome to watch it rise from the ashes,” said Bamforth

People reports that about $9,000 was raised in this election and that Brynn got to announce its grand opening on social media.

Rabbit Hash is actually so tiny that there is no need for an actual mayor. But however small the job, Rabbit Hash says that Brynn makes the perfect leader.

“She’s very outgoing,” said Kayser. “There’s always inappropriate licking going on.”

Bamforth said it’s that smile of hers that swayed voters.

“She ‘s normally got that big old pit bull smile,” said Bamforth, who hopes her dog will help to paint pit bulls in a better light. “She is a super, super happy dog. There aren’t many people that she’s met that she doesn’t like… [she’s] a good judge of character.”

Thankfully, Brynn’s political duties don’t take up so much time as to interfere with her being Bamforth’s best friend.

“Treats or no treats she wold do whatever I ask of her,” Bamforth said. “She’s a really good dog.”
