Cat Owner Creates Hilarious Feeding Chart
The struggle is hilariously real.

Every cat owner knows that the feline is King or Queen of the house. They totally run the show.

You might pretend like you’re in charge, but when you’re cat wakes you up at 4 AM to be fed and you actually get out of bed to do it, you’ve lost control of the house.

It’s okay, don’t feel bad, every single cat owner out there can relate. Cats are very persuasive!

The always find a way to get more food, even if you just fed them 30 minutes prior. Apparently, the only way to get your cat to stop begging you for food is to ignore them.

Yes, even if they knock a plant over to try and get your attention, you’re supposed to still ignore them.

Or else, they might just wind up getting fed four times in a row and you won’t even realize! At least, that is what happened with this one group.

Emily Koziel, a 20-year-old college student, lives with three roommates, Shelby, Kate, and Lydia. Well, four roommates, if you count Emily’s cat, Otto.

It seems like Otto managed to trick all four of his human roommates into feeding him four times a day.

When speaking with BuzzFeed News, Emily talked about Otto’s personality when she first adopted him vs. his personality now:

“When we first brought him home he was super shy and scared. Now he is super bossy and really cuddly when he wants to be! He’s very overweight, I really do try to keep it down but he is just so lazy and bossy.”

It turns out, Otto starts his daily feedings by waking up his mom, Emily, by meowing at her. He meows so loud, all of the girls describe his meow as more of a “scream.”

Emily wakes up, feeds Otto a half a can of cat food and puts it in the fridge. Well, she wasn’t the only one doing that. When Emily got back from class one day, she found another half a can of cat food in the fridge.

Shelby, one of Emily’s roommates, had also been woken up by Otto and yelled at her until she fed him too. After talking to all of the roommates, they found out that this was Otto’s pattern. Everyone thought they were the only one feeding Otto!

Otto is not only smart about getting food, he knows just how to wake his humans up.

Emily told BuzzFeed News, “he licks our doors, and if that doesn’t work he has figured out to open the door.”

In order to attempt to keep from overfeeding Otto (and potentially causing any health issues due to his weight), Emily and her roommate created a feeding chart for Otto.

Emily shared the chart on Reddit and it quite obviously took off. Clearly, internet users could feel for Emily’s struggles with Otto!

Emily posted on Reddit:

“Our cat had all four roommates feeding him each day because he acted like he was starving and we didn’t know that the other roommate already fed him. This was our solution, hopefully he will slim down a bit.”

As cute as fat cats are, it is important to note that overweight cats are more likely to develop health issues, like diabetes, liver disease, arthritis, pancreatitis, and more. Typical domestic cats should weigh around 8-10 pounds. Though Siamese cats can weigh as little as 5 pounds and be healthy, and Maine Coon cats can weigh as much as 25 pounds and be healthy.

Cats can eat once or twice a day, depending on your schedule. Senior cats should always be fed at the same time, as it helps to maintain a schedule for them. Typically, adult cats only need a ⅘ cup of dry cat food a day, or one 6-ounce can of wet food. Though, it is always best to consult with your cat’s veterinarian on what and when to see them!

We hope Otto is able to lose a little weight and stops demanding extra feedings from his humans!
