Let’s Get Ready To Rumbleee!
What’s more exciting than sitting front row in Las Vegas watching the boxing heavyweight title match? Well, two fighting prehistoric lizards going at it on your front porch of course! Now, I want to begin by saying I’m no fan of animal fighting or animal cruelty in any way.
However, there is some level of thrill that kicks in when you unexpectedly find two gators randomly engaging at each other bright and early in front of your doorstep. Susan Geshel, a Fort Myers resident from Florida, witnessed just that on Tuesday. Geshel heard a loud pounding noise coming from her front door and when she went outside to see about the ruckus, she had discovered two gators snapping at each other.
“They’re fighting… Oh my god they are fighting,” said Susan, as she began recording the fight on video footage to upload to social media. “One just snapped at the other.”
First Round
The explosive bout begins with both contenders pitted next to each other in the small porch area. The furthest alligator seems to have his wits about him as he begins to take an aggressive stance with his jaws open ready to strike first. We will refer to this contender as Jack. In the meantime, we can see his opponent, whom we will refer to as Jill, not giving the slightest care in the world as she seemingly taunts Jack by walking away from him. This does not bode well for Jack at all.
Defense Tactics
Jack begins to take a curled position in the corner when suddenly he springs forward and lunges at Jill with all his might! GaPow! One powerful, crunchy bite to Jill’s mid-section and the fight commences! Jill begins to wriggle with sharp pain but remains resilient. She begins wiggling her tail as a way to provide some defense and give her a better position. Jack is a persistent one has he looks like he’s not willing to let go anytime soon!
And The Winner Is…
The encounter then takes a plot twist of its own. As Geshel switches to a different window for a better vantage point, we can see Jill has managed to escape the jaws of death! However, we see Jack as the only standing alligator on the front porch while Jill seems to have scurried away to recover. The ground is pulverized with the scraps of battle. Red mulch completely covers the porch walkway as it displays the remains of the epic battle.
What has become of Jill? One can safely assume she has found shelter in some nearby lake, or maybe she’s training again for the day she can settle her match versus Jack. Perhaps Jill has sought to make amends with Jack and is planning to make peace rather than plotting her vengeance. Whatever the case may be, we will score this match a draw since no winner could be determined from the results.
One clear winner, however, is Susan Geshel. The fortunate lady was able to experience a rare animal encounter between two majestic creatures. Not only that, but the exchange was also brief and the amount of property damage was very minimal compared to what could have happened if things did turn out uglier.
After 15 years of living in Florida, Susan said this was the first time she had ever seen alligators outside of her home. A very scary scene thankfully turned into a quick animal showdown with no repercussions.
