The Arkalalah parade draws many visitors each October and is regarded as the fall festival that features a queen, a carnival, delicious homegrown fair food vendors and the most loved spectacular parade typically lasting two hours or more.

Gage knew that this event was the perfect time to propose to his girlfriend.

Just before the Arkalalah parade started, Gage called Corinne to tell her that there was an urgent change of plans: He was asked to pull a float.

“I was a little bummed but trying not to get too upset because it’s Arkalalah, after all,” Corinne said in her interview.

She had no clue that all of these excuses were just diversions that had been planned for several months!

All of us would of course want to know the story behind this sweet confession of love. Well, the initial idea to build a float for the proposal came from their eager mothers. His mother, Shannon, and Corinne’s mother, Keela, were so clever to share their ideas and both agreed that using a float to pop the question would be the best one!

How cool, right? They were the ones who helped Gage plan everything!

Corinne was confused when she saw her boyfriend’s float and didn’t see Gage. She tried calling him but he didn’t respond.

“Little did I know that three floats down was this extravagant float for me,” Brewer said smiling.

Brewer added that she saw Gage dad’s pulling a float with a sign that said “I’m going to propose to my girlfriend,” but she didn’t even have a clue that all of these “sweet act” was all for her.

“I thought ‘Aww, that’s so cool, his sister’s going to get proposed to.’ But it was for me. I saw my name on the back side,” Corinne recalls.

Corinne’s mom held her by the arm and led her out into the street. From there, Gage got off the float, bent down on one knee, looked her in the eye and asked her to be his wife.

Isn’t this too romantic?

“He said his knees were a little sore when he got off the float,” she said with a laugh because she found out that Gage has ridden the entire parade route on his knees.

Of course, Brewer said her sweet yes and gave him a tight hug. Family members then joined them afterwards for a wonderful group hug.

Corinne never did expect Gage to do such an extravagant and sweet proposal. She said that Gage wasn’t really the outgoing type. She thought Gage would just do a simple and private proposal.

“But he did this and blew it out of the water,” Brewer said happily. “I don’t think anyone could top it.”

We’re wishing both Gage and Corinne a wonderful marriage and a life together. Don’t forget to share their wonderful story!
