Anyone who has ever had to write can tell you that writer’s block is not easy. You’ve experienced it before. You remember, in that essay you were DREADING? You had all these ideas in your head, but when it came time to put pen to paper you froze up. This has happened to just about every writer out there, and there are some truly creative solutions for dealing with it.

Perhaps none, however, are as spectacular as the solution that Amy Daws came up with. She is a novelist from South Dakota who has dealt with more than her fair share of writer’s block experiences. Her most recent issue was not too long ago, but with time Amy found the perfect solution.

In addition to being a successful author who has published multiple books, Amy is a wife and mother. Some of her novels have really gained momentum, such as her popular London Lovers series. Although the woman has experienced immense success, she still struggles with writer’s block from time to time.

This past time, she simply could not find the words to spill onto the page. After many agonizing and fruitless hours, it was time to throw in the towel and get back to her domestic duties. Amy’s car needed new tires, so she took it to the local shop known as Tires Tires Tires. There, the author experienced something she never would have expected.

“One day, I took my car in for new tires at Tires Tires Tires and magically blasted out like 5,000 words in their fabulous waiting room,” Amy shared on her website. “It was incredible. And the scenery wasn’t bad either! Complimentary coffee that was actually delicious, comfortable seating, free cookies, friendly staff.”

She had found her place. There was only one problem – this was a business, and the novelist felt bad taking up a place in the shop all day without a car to work on. With a little creativity, she found a genius way to fix her dilemma.

Amy started bringing friends’ cars to the shop. If anyone needed an oil change, she was there to bring in the car. The employees of the shop knew what she was doing, but there wasn’t much they could do to stop her. And why would they? She was bringing in business. Amy’s friends even created fake tabs, joking about how many cookies she had eaten while enjoying her new writing spot.

“Yes, it was painfully awkward walking in,” Amy admitted. “Yes, those guys at the customer service counter were giving me a look like I’m going to boil a bunny at any moment, but I didn’t care! I had the keys to a car that needed an oil change! Who cares if the oil change took 40 minutes and I was there for 6 hours.”

With that great attitude, Amy deemed Tires Tires Tires her new writing spot. She wrote there as often as she could, making the most out of the great work environment.

Unfortunately, the time came when Amy’s friends no longer needed service to their cars. Without a car to bring in, the novelist figured she would need to find a new writing spot. She got some surprising news, however, from the management.

Amy was invited to come in as often as she wanted! She had certainly found her writing home, and she excitedly spread the good news.

“I’ve really made it, guys. My first official endorsement deal!! So far, i’ve only been paid in coffee, cookies, and swag but we’re workshopping more ways to make this cross promotion mutually beneficial. I foresee myself driving a Tires Tires Tires wrapped car in the near future. Maybe a couple of billboards. TV is a given. The sky is the limit with the wonderful staff at Tires Tires Tires.
This is what the romance community would call…a happily ever after.”

Amy even got a message from the Tireman himself. He jokingly requested to be featured in one of her novels. It was clear from the message that Amy had found a family at the Tires Tires Tires company.

This definitely qualifies as a happy ending. Amy may still face writer’s block from time to time, but she knows where to go to get the juices flowing.
