Tiny Girl’s Big Voice Fills Room Singing “You Raise Me Up”
The way she holds the notes and the emotion she puts into the song at only six-years-old brings me to tears.

Dubbed as the “Celine Dion of Hong Kong”, 11-year-old Celine Tam has definitely convinced everyone that she is a talented singer and performer. She can sing any song and still, her vocal prowess shines through. When she was five years old, her solo performance of Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” certainly caught the hearts of her audience and made everyone’s jaws drop in utter amazement!

Wearing a frilly pink ensemble and her hair braided adorably, little Celine sang on stage like a professional artist. Her powerful voice filled the air and brought chills to all her listeners.

How can such a big voice come out of her small frame? She may be tiny, but she is unbelievably talented and one-of-a-kind.

With a father who owns singing academies in China, Celine grew up surrounded by music. She was only three years old when she first learned to sing and his Dad, Dr. Steve Tam, was her personal vocal coach.

Interestingly, this talented girl was named after the famous diva, Celine Dion. And she ends up becoming a great singer as well! Her younger sister was named Dion and anybody could tell it’s because her parents loved the Canadian diva so much!

Celine had her first media exposure as a singer when she joined the singing competition in China entitled Let’s Sing Kids. She was only five years old then. It was on one of the episodes on the said show that Celine sang the song “You Raise Me Up” while her father and singing mentor, Steve, was directing her from the sidelines.

Everyone was rooting for the young performer as she belted out the song soulfully. Her energy and adorable personality added to the charm of her performance, making everyone in the crowd cheer excitedly for her. She was an incredible singer and her emotions were definitely on point.

The audience were very affected by her performance and really cheered for her. The feelings laced in her every word was accepted, appreciated and felt by everyone in the room. She was absolutely sensational!

When Celine stopped for a short interval in her song, everyone applauded her and probably thought that it was the end of her song number. But, when she began to sing the song on an even more intense level, the crowd was completely blown away!

The show’s judges were definitely wowed by Celine’s vocal prowess and can’t stop but sing along with her. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with when it comes to singing and despite her young age, everyone watching can absolutely see that Celine was made for singing and performing.

Joining Let’s Sing Kids was only the beginning of a lot of amazing things that happened to Celine. Her musical genius brought her to various singing competitions in and out of Asia. Her biggest break would probably be the moment she passed the audition stage of the 12th season of America’s Got Talent.

She was nine years old at the time and auditioned when actress Laverne Cox was on the show as a guest judge. Her rendition of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On” was so moving and mesmerizing that the guest judge could only do one thing to reward her extraordinary performance: hit the golden buzzer.

America’s Got Talent gave Celine the exposure and popularity that she needed to propel her singing career.

Although she only advanced until the semi-finals, Celine continued on pursuing her dream to become a powerhouse in music and singing.

Celine is now 11 years old and is currently busy with various singing engagements. She also auditioned for China’s World’s Got Talent and guess what? She earned another golden buzzer! We can definitely expect huge things for this talented young artist and she’s not even in her teens yet!
