There’s nothing cuter than a sleeping baby. But when it comes to animals interacting with babies… now that comes to a close second. Sometimes parents can be a little skittish when introducing a new baby to the pets of the house.

You never know how a pet is going to react to a newborn who’s taking most of the attention.

That’s why a well-trained pet is important to have when bringing around small babies and children. Thankfully this family has a cockatiel who adores their newborn baby so much he watches over her while she sleeps.

One nap time these parents saw a perfect moment to hit record and you won’t want to miss it. They definitely trust their feathered friend around their baby, even while she’s catching some much needed Zzz’s.

Their sweet cockatiel felt inclined to take over babysitting duties while the baby was taking a nice nap.

This feathered sitter even began singing songs to the peaceful baby! He was tweeting all sorts of high pitched melodies just inches away from the resting bundle of joy. The baby’s eyes flickered sleepily to see who was singing lullabies during her nap but she barely even budged.

Hopefully, this cockatiel got a bump in his babysitting salary!

This pretty bird has baby duty all under control. While the baby enjoyed her slumber the cockatiel even gave her kisses on the nose. Now that’s what we call quality care!

It’s no surprise that cockatiels are one of the most popular companion birds.

They are known to snuggle up to their trusted owners and are also extremely outgoing. These Australian natives are highly skilled whistlers hence the nap time serenade.

They direct their whistles towards their favorite person, favorite toy, or just while looking at their reflection in the mirror.

Healthy and well-socialized cockatiels make for a great family pet and this video definitely proves that! This baby better gets used to the nap time serenades because it doesn’t look like this cockatiel is going anywhere anytime soon.

But you never know, she could have a passion for music in the future!

You’ll have to see it to believe it.
