Dogs can’t always be perfect animals. It might be hard to believe, but they do mess up sometimes. Whether it’s tearing up a couch, going to the bathroom in the house, or eating something they are not supposed to, it’s guaranteed that a pup will make some mistakes in their life.
The great thing about dogs though is that it is hard to stay mad at them for too long. They are so cute, the term “puppy dog eyes” exists for a reason. After all, how can you look at their face and not feel anything but love?
A few years ago, Anthony Federica was mad at his Labrador. We don’t know what he was mad at the pup for, but it doesn’t matter too much because what we do know is that the dog felt so guilty afterward that his apology was epic.
The Lab, whose name is Ettore, noticed that he was in trouble and clearly became overwhelmed with guilt and desperation. Feeling lost and doomed, the dog was eager to receive Anthony’s forgiveness.
Now, when most dogs try to say sorry, they usually just sit down or flash their puppy dog eyes at their owner. Ettore is different from most dogs though and really managed to take his apology to the next level.
The interactions that come next are insanely precious.
Anthony is speaking in Italian but we can tell by his tone that he is upset with Ettore. As Anthony begins to talk down to his dog and shame him for whatever it is that he did, Ettore cannot handle it.
So Ettore decides to pop up off of the floor and lean into Anthony. He literally takes his head and pushes it up against Anthony’s chest as if he is trying to give him a big hug.
It is clear that the dog is trying to earn Anthony’s forgiveness and win him over. Anthony isn’t taking it as he keeps talking, but Ettore keeps trying. The dog looks directly into the man’s eyes as he tries to be sincere and apologize.
It is almost scary to see how human-like this dog is acting. Despite whatever Anthony is saying, Ettore continues to use all of his weight to lean into him. And he is a big dog! He looks so strong, you can even see the muscles in his arms when he lifts them up.
He continues to look Anthony in the eyes. At one point, he lifts his paws up and places them on Anthony’s shoulders. Of course, Anthony is resisting but he is also laughing and eating up all of the love and attention.
It’s pretty crazy to see this dog act like a human. It is also so cute! You can tell that he is guilty and he is trying his best to say sorry and that’s all you can hope for, right?
As long as the dog knows he’s wrong, that’s good enough. You really can’t stay mad at something so cute for too long…
There is no doubt in our mind that Anthony accepted this apology eventually. It is too adorable not to!
