Everyone loves a life hack. Little tips to make your life easier can be found all over the internet nowadays. Theres pages on Facebook, Snapchat, Tik Tok, and literally everywhere dedicated to people finding new ways to do some of life’s most simple tasks.
One woman discovered a secret about cereal boxes she had been missing for almost 40 years and decided to share her new discovery with the world.
Becky Holden McGhee posted to Facebook recently to share the life hack she discovered to put an end to torn up cereal boxes and stale cereal. “Had to share this! It only took me 40 years but I now know the correct way to close a cereal box. Genius. It takes seconds, no more dried up cereal and ugly torn boxes to greet me in the morning.” the post read.
In the video she posted, Becky first folds the shorter two flaps into the cereal box. Then folds one of the longer sides in as well. After that she pinches the short sides so that they are folded, pointing in. Lastly, she just slips the remaining long side into the slot the pinched folds have created and the box is perfectly sealed.
No more stale morning cereal. No more torn up cardboard pieces. No more boxes never staying closed. Not only is this convenient, but it makes the boxes look more sleek and organized; almost as if they were made to be folded that way all along. Not to mention, it makes taller boxes fit into shorter cabinets much easier.
Becky never thought that her little social media post would get as much attention as it did, but it really took off. Over 4 million people have viewed the video since it was posted! And thousands more have shared and commented on it with gratitude for sharing something that was so simple and overlooked.
The post originally started out as a photo, and when her friend inquired how she did and requested a video, Becky thought it was rather funny, but would give it a shot.
“It was accidental, I never in a million years thought it would be viewed 3 million times!” she said in an interview with Bored Panda.
“Get out! I need to to try this. Thank for sharing!” and “I just tried it, and it works great” were just some of the comments on the trending post.
This neat trick only takes seconds to do and everyone is bound to have a box of cereal around so why not give it a try?
Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
