The more they tried to stop, the worse it got. 😂

Saving lives is serious business. But you can’t be serious all the time. That’s why the folks at the Luton Ambulance Station in the U.K. like to have a good laugh every now and again to relieve the pressure.

But on this day they had more than a good laugh.

They had a great laugh. A hysterical laugh. And they couldn’t stop that laughter. And that bought of silliness ended up going viral.

Paramedics Dave Tamarro and Joe Cartwright were making a video for the first-ever International Paramedics Day on July 8.

And they had a heck of a time trying to get the video done.

That’s because the two couldn’t stop laughing. They tried multiple attempts at making the video and ended up putting their blooper reel online because it was too funny not to share.

“Hello, everybody. Welcome to Luton Ambulance Station,” Tamarro says in the video.

To the left of Tamarro was a headless skeleton.

To the left of the headless skeleton was Cartwright who was supposed to introduce himself after that, but he just busted out laughing. Not sure if he was laughing at the skeleton or just a classic fit, but he couldn’t stop.

In take two, Cartwright laughed so hard he almost spit. His hyena-like laughter spread to Tamarro who then started laughing and bumbling his lines.

Tamarro got pretty far into his schpeel in a subsequent take only to have Cartwright completely blow it when it was his turn to talk.

These two had a serious case of the funnies, and they had it in the worse way. It was pretty golden.

Eventually, Tammaro had to give Cartwright a little smack. Maybe he was trying to smack the sillies out of him to finish the video but it didn’t seem to work.

They even tried different positions and moved the camera so there was just a door behind them.

That seemed to work eventually in getting Cartwright to at least get his name out without laughing. But beyond that, he couldn’t say much more without cackling some more.

He was asked, “What’s it like being a paramedic?” To which he responded: “It feels really good to be a paramedic,” Cartwright returning to hysterics.

“I don’t know why I keep saying that. I can’t stop saying, ‘It feels good.’ I’m so sorry!”

Eventually, they were able to get through their spot which was featured in a video along with the testimonies of many other paramedics on what it’s like to be a paramedic.

Their blooper real was released ahead of the final version of the video.

That viral video likely raised a lot of awareness about International Paramedics Day, even though it wasn’t completely conventional.

“We received thousands of lovely messages about Dave and Joe’s many attempts at their message for International Paramedics Day,” Tom Abell, chief executive of EEAST, told CBS News. “I know they have both been amazed by the response. “We felt it was important to mark this first ever International Paramedics Day on Friday 8th July to celebrate the work of our dedicated crews, who work so hard to support our patients and communities.”

Many who commented on the blooper reel expressed how much joy the video brought them saying that laughter is the best medicine.

“Perhaps without intending to, they have given us all a secret of handling a difficult task or difficult job, which is maintaining a sense of humor through it all,” one commenter said. “Giving people a good laugh during a crisis seems to help survive it. Thanks to everyone who has and shares such a healthy attitude to life and its struggles.”
