If you’ve never seen someone dance the West Coast Swing, you are in for an exciting surprise!

West Coast Swing originated on the West Coast (obviously) of the United States in 1937.

Dean Collins, an American dancer and choreographer developed it as a teacher and performer himself. Pulling from a variety of influences, a large part of the dance’s history comes from the Lindy Hop from Harlem, NY, and the Lindy, from Charleston, SC, before that.

West Coast Swing is primarily a partner dance that is all based around improv!

It’s a snappy, quick, and electric dance that you can’t take your eyes off of. Using your partners momentum, you extend and compress (throw) your way around the floor.

Today, there are several dancers that promote and teach this kind of dance, while some of them participate in dancing competitions and championships.

Jordan Frisbee and Larisa Tingle are one of the best-known dancing couples around.

Typically, the two have their own partners to dance with, but certain events led them to dance together at the Phoenix Championship.

They won first place!

The video that follows shows the two experienced dancers performing a mind-blowing dance with flawless moves and smooth transitions. There is absolutely nothing not to love about their dance.

But who are Frisbee and Tingle?

Jordan Frisbee was born in L.A. California. He started dancing at the age of 11, when a pretty girl, who then became his first dance partner, asked him if he knew how to dance West Coast Swing. Later on, he majored in Business and Entrepreneurship, but he never ceased to love dancing.

So, in the meantime, he became dance partners with Jessica Cox for three years, and in 2000 he met Tatiana Mollmann, with whom they still dance together.

Tingle, on the other hand, started as a violinist and vocalist and was then drawn to dancing.

She had been living her dancing dream lately, having her own dance school and competing at a champion level with her partner Tony. At her dancing school, she teaches classes that vary from beginners to advanced on a weekly basis.

Some of the viewers online noticed something interesting!

They saw that Jordan’s shoes match Larisa’s hair and they couldn’t take their eyes off them! With such bright shoes he must be really confident that he won’t mess up and put those bright feet on display.
