Have you heard of a time capsule?

It may be difficult to describe, but it will be useful to future archaeologists, anthropologists, and historians.

On a lighter note, Cake described it as “a collection of items that paint a picture of what things looked like in the past.”

They mentioned that it’s meant to be a medium of communication between the future and whoever finds the capsule.

And they even revealed what you should put in your capsule.

If you want one, you must first create your time capsule container.

To be honest, I’d love to have one.

Here’s a story about a woman who had a nostalgic reaction to having an instant time capsule of her high school years.

A former Jeffersonville High School student in Indiana has been reunited with a purse. She misplaced it at the school more than 60 years ago, and she says it has brought back a flood of memories.

Martha Ingham Everett, also known as “Marty,” was a junior in high school in 1954. It was Rosemary Clooney who was at the top of the charts.

She misplaced her handbag when she was only 16 years old.

And she almost certainly never expected to see it again.

This now 82-year-old woman relived her adolescence.

Everyone wants to know how the school found her purse.

“The school was being demolished for a new building and amongst rubble and other things, they found this purse,” Martha told Inside Edition.

Fortunately, Martha’s ID was still in her purse, so the school in Indiana tracked her down via social media.

Greater Clark County Schools created a Facebook post that read:

“Lost and Found Alert: Martha Ina Ingham’s handbag from 1954 has been found in the Franklin Square demolition. We would love to return it to her or her family!”

It was successful! Soon after, Martha’s son learned about the bag and informed her.

Finally, the purse was reunited with its owner.

The school staff mailed Martha’s purse to Florida.

“Brings back a lot of memories, a lot of people haven’t heard from in a long time,” Martha recalled.

What did she have in her purse?

There were vintage memorabilia items from the past. Inside there was lipstick, a compact, photographs, letters, receipts, and more!

One of the letters in her purse had been from a fellow student who had politely invited her to the prom.

“Dear Marty,

I’ve heard that Paul has asked you to go to the prom with him. If he hasn’t, I would like very much to take you…”

However, Martha went to her junior prom with Carter Williams. The prom photos remained in the purse.

It was a complete time capsule preserving what it was like to be a student in the 1950s.

Martha shared:

“Really interesting to me you know and things about my life that I’ve forgotten about.”

This is a fascinating story to digest. Thanks to the demolition team and the school crew that made this remarkable event happen for Martha.
